Receipta — Effective date: August 7, 2026
Receipta is built to be private by design. This policy explains what data the app handles and what never leaves your device.
Receipta has no user accounts, no analytics SDKs and no advertising. We do not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, or any advertising identifiers. Your receipt photos are stored only on your device and are never uploaded anywhere.
Text recognition (OCR) runs entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework. When AI-assisted extraction is enabled, only the recognized text of a receipt (never the photo) is sent over an encrypted connection to our processing service, which uses the Anthropic API to convert it into structured fields (merchant, date, total, tax, category). This text is processed transiently to produce the result and is not used to build user profiles. The result is returned to your device and stored only there.
Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by Apple through your Apple Account. We never see or store your payment details.
All receipts live in the app's local storage on your device. Deleting a receipt in the app, or deleting the app itself, permanently removes that data. Exported CSV files are created locally and shared only where you choose to send them.
Receipta is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
If we change this policy, the updated version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
